Vice Governor Ariza Inaugurates Negative Pressure COVID-19 Isolation Room

Jakarta Vice Governor Ahmad Riza Patria, inaugurated the Negative Pressure COVID-19 Isolation Room at the Al-Fauzan Jakarta Islamic Hospital (JIH), Jalan Pedati 3, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta, on Tuesday (4/13).

In that occasion, there were also seen Al Fauzan Hospital Director, Prita Kusuma Ningsih; Al-Fauzan Foundation Founder, Basuki Supartono; and East Jakarta Health Sub-agency Head, Indra Setiawan.

He hoped that the hospital could continuously play an active role and assist the Jakarta administration in handling and controlling pandemics.

"Hopefully, together we can provide the best service, especially for the people of Jakarta. So please for those of you, especially Jakarta residents, especially the elderly and teachers, can come here to get vaccinations," he stated, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.

At the same time, he also gave an appreciation on the Al-Fauzan Hospital's contribution in handling and controlling the disease since the beginning of the pandemic in Jakarta.

"Thanks and highest appreciation to the owners and administrators of Al-Fauzan Hospital, doctors and medical workers, nurses and staff who have worked hard to participate in curbing the disease," he expressed.

He even assessed that the general and specialist health services provided by the Al-Fauzan Hospital to the public were very good. He hoped, it could be maintained in order to provide the best public service.

"This is a good hospital, supported by professional and experienced facilities and doctors. And most importantly, served with patience, dedication, attention and served with a kind and clean heart; also last but not least the cost is very affordable. Hopefully in the future we can continue to give the best service for the public," he uttered.

Al-Fauzan Hospital Director Prita Kusuma Ningsih added that the hospital was committed to provide the best service. That was why his side had provided the negative pressure COVID-19 isolation room.

He went on to say that the room had 115 square meters width, which is located at the very back of the hospital and separated.

"We have 2 treatment rooms, each for men and women, with a capacity of 5 beds, so there are 10 beds. Each room is equipped with cameras, as well as 3 toilets, 1 laundry room, 1 nurse room and 1 intermediate room. Our hope is it can take part in the framework of restoring a healthy and pandemic-free Indonesia," he continued.

As for the information, the COVID-19 isolation room is designed to have negative pressure. That means that the air pressure in the room is lower than the air pressure outside the room. If there is aerosol from the patient, the air in the room will come out of the room through the HEPA Filter, thus there is no spread or it will infect other people.

In May 2020, the hospital had contributed in handling the disease by buildi ng a COVID-19 Field Hospital that serves screening and patient referral services. "It is still active now. Screening consists of rapid antibody, rapid antigen swab, and PCR swab. We also have a negative pressure ambulance, which is used to refer patients infected with COVID-19 to a Referral Hospital," she reported.

As of January 12, 2021, as a follow-up to the ministry and the agency's call, the private hospitals could strengthen participation in the response to the pandemic, so the Al-Fauzan Hospital starts treating patients who have confirmed COVID-19. Thus far the hospital has treated 21 people with 20 people recovering.

Aside that, in further development, the hospital was believed to be the hospital where the COVID-19 vaccination is held. "It has been ongoing since March 19 and has served 46 health workers and 228 seniors. It is held on the side of the hospital, vaccinations will also eye teachers," she added.

During the inauguration, there were also DPR's Commission Member for Health Division, Netty Prasetiyani; University of Indraprasta Rector, Prof. Sumaryoto; Jakarta DPRD's Commission C Member, Nasdyanto; West Java Governor 2008-2018, Ahmad Heryawan; ranks of East Jakarta Mayor; and Kramat Jati Sub-district, Eka Dermawan.
